Overview
Project Overview
KPS delivered critical security upgrade works at APHA Aston Down in Stroud, Gloucestershire, supporting a long-term government client with essential improvements to site security and welfare facilities.
The site required investment to bring key areas up to current security and welfare standards. KPS delivered a coordinated package of works including CCTV, access control, security gate upgrades and a new bespoke guarding cabin.
Challenges
The Challenge
The site had suffered from underinvestment over a number of years and required a practical upgrade programme to improve both security provision and welfare standards for the on-site team.
Because the works involved active security systems and guarding facilities, the project needed to be carefully planned to maintain site operations during the transition from old to new systems.

Specialist Security and Welfare Upgrade Works
A key part of the project was the replacement of the old guarding unit with a new bespoke security cabin. KPS worked with specialist suppliers to design and procure a cabin that better supported the operational needs of the guarding team.
The new facility included upgraded welfare areas, helping to improve the working environment while supporting the wider security requirements of the site.
Coordination
Working Collaboratively During Transition
The upgrade works required close collaboration with the site team to manage the transition from the old systems to the new installations.
KPS worked carefully around operational requirements, ensuring the site continued to function while the new security gate systems, CCTV, access control and welfare improvements were delivered.
Result
The Result
The project was completed on time and within the client’s budget constraints.
