Overview

Project Overview

KPS was selected to support a major security upgrade framework for a key government department, delivering works across multiple sites throughout the South East.

The programme involved initial site surveys, cost planning and the delivery of enabling works to support security contractor cabling installations. The works formed part of a wider critical security upgrade package across government facilities.

Challenges

The Challenge

The framework required KPS to work across multiple live government sites, with all works carefully planned to avoid disruption to day-to-day operations.
A key challenge was the requirement for out-of-hours working. This meant each site needed to be left fully operational at the end of every shift, with clear supervision, communication and quality control across multiple locations.

Refurbishment

Scope of Works

KPS supported the security upgrade programme through surveys, cost planning and site works that enabled the installation of upgraded security cabling and associated infrastructure.

Key Works Included

Initial site surveys across the South East region
Cost planning for security upgrade works
Fire door surveys and associated works
Fire compartmentation assessments and works
Internal and external containment installation
Enabling works for security contractor cabling
Out-of-hours delivery across live operational sites
Coordination with security contractors, site teams and end users

Installation

Out-of-Hours Delivery Across Multiple Sites

The works were carried out outside normal working hours to allow each site to continue operating as usual during the day.
Working in this way required a robust set of site processes, with KPS teams managing nightly works, supervision and end-of-shift handovers across multiple locations. This ensured that buildings remained safe, operational and ready for use after each working shift.

Result

The Result

The works were completed to a high standard and successfully passed rigorous security audits carried out by the end user and site teams.

The programme demonstrated KPS’s ability to support complex, multi-site government projects requiring out-of-hours working, careful coordination and consistent delivery across live operational environments.
